October monthly meeting

Trans-Canada Net & Hub

Exploring the backbone of Canadian amateur radio

Join us on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, for an in-depth presentation on the Trans-Canada Net & Hub, led by VE7NZ.

The Trans-Canada Net has long been a meeting place for operators from coast to coast. This session will cover:

  • How the Net began and its original purpose in connecting hams across provinces.
  • The modern Hub system, including how different repeater systems and modes tie into national coverage.
  • Operational stories from net control stations and check-ins across Canada.
  • The future of the Net, including digital expansion and new operator engagement.

Whether you’re a seasoned participant or have never checked into the Net before, this is a chance to learn how it all works and why it remains one of the most important nets in Canadian amateur radio.
