June monthly meeting

Hydrogen Radio Telescope & NVIS Panel

Learn about building a simple backyard radio telescope, explore NVIS operation, and get a Field Day primer at our June meeting!

📅 Important! This month’s meeting is on TUESDAY, not our usual Monday!
We’ve moved the meeting to Tuesday, June 10, 2025 to avoid a conflict with the Manitoba Marathon briefing.

Join us on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, for a dynamic evening of radio topics to kick off a busy summer of ham activities!

Geoff VE4AE will present on how to build a simple Hydrogen Radio Telescope you can set up in your own backyard — a fun and educational project for radio enthusiasts of all skill levels.

Following this, Mark VA4MAJ will lead an interactive NVIS (Near Vertical Incidence Skywave) Panel Discussion, exploring how NVIS antennas can provide critical local HF coverage for emergency and public service communication.

Finally, we’ll wrap up with a quick Field Day Primer to get everyone ready for ARRL Field Day 2025 on June 28-29.

This is an excellent opportunity to learn new techniques, connect with fellow hams, and prepare for Field Day — all in one evening!
